Brazilian starlet Lucas Piazon recently sealed a loan move to Spanish side Malaga for the remainder of the season, so I am asking Chelsea fans; do you think this move will be a hit or miss?
First and foremost let's hope Piazon gets sufficient game time, at this point in his career first team football is vital for development and we don't want another McEachran-Swansea scenario on our hands! Malaga are currently sitting 5th in La Liga, just 3 points off of the Champions League places, they are a top quality side with plenty of talent and it could prove difficult for Piazon to break into the starting line-up. There is no doubt he has the ability to do so, fingers crossed he can apply himself and really make an impression in La Liga.
Malaga can also offer Piazon a taste of Champions League football, the Spanish side advanced to the knockout stages and our youngster is eligible to play in the competition because he didn't make a Champions League appearance for Chelsea. If he does indeed break into the side this would prove to be some priceless experience for him.
Other than the obvious potential advantages for our youngster, it has been rumoured that the Blues are also using this opportunity to open up a good business relationship with Malaga, specifically to aid the swoop of the young Spanish talent Isco in the near future. If the tactical motivations behind this deal are true, then it is some very shrewd and smart business by Chelsea that could definitely pay dividends.

Obviously the success of this deal all comes down to game time, if Piazon manages to force his way into the side and become a regular fixture in the starting 11, this will prove to be some good business. I have no doubt that he will flourish as Lukaku has done at West Brom, as long as he is given the opportunity to shine.
For me this deal will be a hit, provided he works hard and showcases the talent we all know he possesses.
What is your verdict?

Piazon loses his homegrown status so this was a really stupid move by the club should've sent him to at a Championship club like McEachran!
ReplyDeleteIm sick of the club not giving chance to our youngsters what they could do. For example the sale of studge. He already scored 4 goals if im not mistaken. We hardly gave him time to play this season and then we offload him just like that? Freakin great
ReplyDeleteI really love our club n roman has been great but he holds to much power. In this club if you are not bought at high price you wont play unless if the expensive n high profile player is unavailable.
ReplyDeleteHaha everybody is talking about us buying falcao or cavani. Not that i dont want them but what about piazon? And lukaku? both of them costs us a total of 25mil pound. If we dont want to play them in d first place we shouldve use that money to buy falcao or cavani instead. All this "too young to play" thing is bullshit. To me, if you are good enough, you are old enough.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair if we sign Isco ahead of everyone else due to this I am not complaining!!!!
