If newspaper reports and rumours are to be believed, Marko Marin is to be shown the door at Chelsea after just a couple of appearances in six months!.
With the January transfer window open, QPR are believed to have lodged a bid for Marin but there is no confirmation at the moment whether or not the bid is a loan arrangement or a permanent bid to sign the German.
Marin has distanced himself with a permanent move away from Chelsea in this window and has spoken of thinking about a loan move instead. He said:
“If I have the feeling, I’d get more games somewhere else and continue my development, a loan deal could be thinkable. On condition of Chelsea wanting that. I have not thought about leaving in the winter. I am of the opinion I am in good hands here. Therefore I will fully concentrate on Chelsea. And I believe the club would not just let me leave. It seems to be the case that it is my call [to leave or not]. I’d have to make the first step. Currently I am not thinking about that. I have signed for five years. To question everything after five months, and three months of injury, makes no sense.”It's been difficult for Marin to make any sort of impact at the club since he signed in the summer. Like he says himself, he was injured for three months and in that time, the combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar took all the plaudits with the start they made under RDM.
Just as Marin had recovered from his injury and began to make fleeting appearances under RDM, the manager was sacked with a new manager put in charge and he has had to start all over again with everyone else.
Unfortunately for Marin, Victor Moses has stolen a march on him now under Benitez and has been playing really well with Oscar finding himself alongside Marin on the bench these days.
With Harry Redknapp at QPR, with a transfer window open, expect all sorts of names been linked and players coming and going. I wouldn't be surprised if Marin does make a move to Loftus Road on loan until the end of the season. Whether or not he makes it work is another thing, but it seems like it could benefit all of us if this does happen.
What do you people think about Marko Marin and his time here so far? Has he been unlucky with injury and with other players doing well or do you think the club made a mistake in signing him?
What do you think about a possible loan move in this window and if he went to QPR?
