With the transfer window open for eight days things seemed to have settled down at Stamford Bridge after Demba Ba signed for the club and made his goalscoring debut against Southampton. Let's also not forget that Yossi Benayoun made his return to the club from his loan at West Ham.
We all know that Rafa Benitez had confirmed that there were a couple of positions that he felt needed to be strengthened with the squad so expect maybe one or two more signings before the window closes at the end of the month.
One position that could be being looked at is the situation at right back. For the past couple of seasons Branislav Ivanovic had made the position his own if though it wasn't his preferred position and that was ahead of the ever loyal Paulo Ferreira.
This summer, Cesar Azpilicueta has come in and done really well so far and has given the manager another option which in light of injuries and suspensions, allowed Ivanovic to play in his more favoured position at centre back.
With it looking like Ferreira will be leaving the club in the summer, talkSport are led to believe that Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Ghanaian right back Samuel Inkoom who is currently at Dnipro in the Ukraine under Juande Ramos (remember him?).
Inkoom is 24 this year and has already featured for Ghana 37 times including the World Cup in 2010.
Inkoom moved to the Ukraine from FC Basel two summers ago and made 18 appearances for Dnipro in his first season but has been frozen out by Ramos and has played only 26 minutes of football so far this season.
As a result, his agent is eyeing up a move to Europe and it's believed that Chelsea and Liverpool are interested.
Like many of you, I do not know much about him but it's pretty obvious that we need cover at right back and this guy looks to be the business.
Have a look at the video below and give your opinion on Inkoom. Is this someone Chelsea should be looking to sign ahead of Liverpool?

Inkoom is a very good player. Have been following him from the ghanaian premier league till he moved out of ghana.. Since 2006, he has been a core part of the ghanaian national team.. He sm times play in the midfield too....
ReplyDeleteBad move. Am Ghanaian and I say Inkoom can't cross a ball. He is so bad he couldn't even make the 23 man squad for our afcon tournament. Cesar is doing a marvelous job already. So no thank you Inkoom. KTBFFH
