Tongiht, Chelsea lost their second home game in a row losing 2-0 to a hard working Swansea side.
Let's hold our hands up here and congratulate Swansea on the result and their performance. They set up to make it difficult for Chelsea and to try and get something on the counter and did exactly that. It's just a shame that Branislav Ivanovic, who has been our most reliable and consistent defender, made two mistakes that were punished!.
Chelsea failed to make their chances count and could have been two goals up in the first half. Ramires and Juan Mata should have both done better in front of goal.
With stern defending and wasted chances, you could see that it was going to be difficult for Chelsea to brake this side down and it proved to be the case.
Fernando Torres was non existent, Oscar struggled out wide in a position that he isn't comfortable with and when Rafa Benitez finally decided to make changes, he made the wrong one first and then the final two twenty minutes too late in the game.
The fans made their feelings clear with chants of "We want Demba Ba" when it was obvious that Torres wasn't in the game and "One Di Matteo" after the second goal went in.
What was also noticeable tonight was the fact that for the first time, when he came off, Fernando Torres was booed by the supporters and I am sure he heard it.
So we leave the Bridge tonight losing 2-0 from a game we should (on paper) have taken a lead into the second leg.
Can Chelsea turn this round in two weeks time? Let's hope so!
So Chelsea fans, what did you think of the game, the performances of the players, the mistakes, the goals and the substitutions?
Do you think we can turn it round?

The honeymoon is over for Torres. The Chelsea supporters have been very supportive of him, but now it's over.
ReplyDeleteCall me a plastic fan if you like but my problem tonight was Rafa and no Torres...Rafa wasnt wrong to start with Torres cuz obviously He (Torres) has the chance to be selected, but Rafa was wrong for Torres to have lasted 80 mins on the pitch wen obviously he isnt performing...sentiments caused pur loss tonight and this is my worst game so far...after atletico's...its obvious Torres isnt better than chamark at the mmoment...its just a pity...mayb David Luiz has to give him a season Long injury during trainning session for rafa to know that He should be dropped...in anyways...ktbffh
ReplyDeletetorres is just a dead shadow. Feel like saying this in front of him. A wasted money as well as a wasted effort. £7million for ba and he is doing great.
ReplyDeleteEl nino shud go bck 2 spain if he wonts 2 kip playn 4 spain.
ReplyDeleteAll well they say is what ends well. I think chelsea deserve this much considering the club hostile attitude toward coaches. Di matteo should have never been sacked.
ReplyDeleteYou can't blame it all on torres I admit he's useless but laudrup spanked benitez tactically
ReplyDeleteFirstly credit to Swansea they got it spot on tonight!
ReplyDeleteBenitez is shocking and Torres your time is up pack your bags and fuck off back to Spain and take the fat Spanish waiter with you!
I have have said it many times, Torres from the beginning is a bad luck, chelsea is loosing too much because of him. It's pitiful but the truth is, Torres has lost it all. Tonight however, the problem is Benitez. Was he not seeing what I was seeing? Torres wasn't present on the field and for unknown reason he lasted 80mins! In a side where the like if Ba is on the bench. Ba would have scored at least a goal. I have sympathy for the likes of Mata, Oscar and Hazard whose efforts would have been paid for given a good striker on their side. The subtitution was too late and at that time, chelsea was no longer kicking ball past them easily again. But then, if his goal was not disqualified it would have been great. Within the few minutes he tormented them.
ReplyDeleteWe simply lost de game on in de line up dat was used today I mean how can u use Torres ahead of Ba? A player who was on de pitch for 80 minutes and cudnt do anyfin on de field he didn't even get involved in de match and brought on Ba 10 minutes to end proceedings wat kind of impact to do u expect from him Rafa is just a confused man I tell u a good player doesn't all de time in de world to show u how good he is he came on and he was an instant threat to de Swansea defence unfortunate his goal was disallowed.
ReplyDeleteTorres time @ Chelsea is due out. Benitez a goat two home easy defeat.
ReplyDeleteBenitez i hope u & so called torres re hapy now? Fools! Chelsea is out simple. Pls if rafa will nt use Ba pls sale him back to any club. Pls for God sake we re tired of torres, his time @ Chelsea is off. Rafa is not a good coach 4 me 2 home defeat just lik that!
ReplyDeleteAm glad everyone is now seeing reasons frm my own point of view, torres is gone roman should cut his losses nd sell him follow me @ugunag for more chelsea talks, cos blue blood flows through my veins am interested in anyone who loves talking abt cfc,so just follow,nd I'll follow back
ReplyDeleteWell, this 1st of all proves me right that chelsea can lose even with Mata, Hazard, Oscar on the pitch, so our loss to QPR shouldn't be blamed on rotation!
ReplyDeleteGood decision to start Torres, but poor one in waiting till d 81st minute to replace him!
Starting Torres is never a good choice. A false 9 would be better against anyone apart from juve nd stoke etc
