When it comes to any transfer window in this country, the press and media like to have a field day with all sorts of people being linked with moves from one club to another. It's also a chance for football agents to line their pockets trying to broker a move for their client or to try and get a better contract at the club his is at. It's officially silly season!
Over the weekend a ridiculous story has been printed here linking Chelsea with a £30m move for Barcelona's Sergio Busquets!.
The article in The Mirror states that Chelsea has sent scouts over to check on him recently with a view to opening negotiations with Barcelona over a potential move to Stamford Bridge. The article also states that historically, Barcelona never do business in January and a move would only be discussed at the end of the season if both the club and player are keen to do business.
This one should be put to bed as soon as possible in my eyes. Busquets is over rated if you ask me and if he thinks he could get away with some of the ridiculous histrionics he displays at times on the football pitch, he would spend more time being suspended for simulation than actually playing!.
Mikel has just signed a new five year contract and under Benitez (before his injury on Saturday), Oriol Romeu has seen more first team action and looked like he had never been away.
As for Busquets? If it's common practice these days to have two players for each position within your squad, I would rather stick with Romeu and Mikel than have this bloke here!.

Romeu looks back to his old self.. one thing I will say is he needs to improve his balance. that would make him a top player
