So Chelsea fans, plenty have asked the question of a backup to Fernando Torres this season and about Sturridge playing through the middle and do you feel as though he answered those questions?
Let's face it we have been waiting for Sturridge to get back match fit and to be given his chance through the middle by RDM haven't we.
Some people would like to see him being given a regular run starting in the side, some do not. Some people talk of Torres and that he isn't cutting it in recent games but in saying that, do we think that Sturridge did last night?
If anything Danny Sturridge frustrated the life out of us last night didn't he. There are so many times when he could have lifted his head up and played a pass to another Chelsea shirt, or just played it simple.
Instead, he was shooting from all angles and even from the bloody byline!.
Think about his goal for a second. As soon as the defender headed the ball into his path his instinct took over. He never had time to dwell on the ball or to over think what we wanted to do. His strikers instinct took over and he kept it simple, rounded the keeper and scored! If only he would just concentrate on doing that, he would score plenty more goals.
The only thing I can think of about Sturridge at times last night is that he is so keen to impress probably knowing that Torres will be back starting on Saturday at Swansea, that he wanted to score as many goals as possible.
I just wish he would stick to keeping it simple!.
What do you people think?

ReplyDeleteFrankly speaking, Sturridge was a bundle of frustration last night, if not for his goal, i would have picked Moses as a better performer of the two last night,i still think we have issues in our striking position, and we need a backup as soon as possible! Torres and sturridge cannot solely be enthrusted with constant performance in that position.
ReplyDeleteI think he was good and deserves to start next match and have is chance, torres as had endless chances
ReplyDeleteSturridge was selfish, greedy and immature. He should learn to be a team player and not be in a hurry to be in the spot light and taking the glory for himself
