DAVID LUIZ THE SWEEPER?

With John Terry being injured and our defensive frailties without him there being exposed in recent weeks, it has got me thinking. Why doesn't Roberto Di Matteo make a temporary switch to playing three centre backs and playing David Luiz as a sweeper in between Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic?

A huge number of Chelsea fans believe that Luiz could play as a holding midfielder because of his ability with the ball at his feet and how he reads the game being played out in front of him. Of late, he has looked vulnerable at the back and people have questioned his defensive attributes so why not adopt him as a sweeper in the side?

Cahill and Ivanovic would be expected to pick up or man mark the forwards in the side we are playing against leaving Luiz free to read the game and act as cover for the two of them.

What do you people think about this? Rather than play two of the three week in, week out why not play all of them together?
