RDM denied we were lucky last season - What do you think?

I watched Robbie Di Matteo speaking at the pre match Press Conference yesterday and picked up on his response to being asked if he thought that Chelsea were "lucky" to win the Champions League last term.

He said:

"You need to deserve everything you get. We worked very hard and prepared well for the different opponents we faced. It can't just be luck, of course you need a portion, but that's a minor part of it.

...and it made me chuckle!. I have to say this, and I have been saying it for a while now. I don't think we will ever have luck in the competition again for a very long time because I feel that we used it all up last term!.

RDM is right though, sometimes you deserve everything you get and after all the blood, sweat and tears we have had in the past, it was quite simply our time.

Everything went our way looking back and I remember thinking during the Barcelona game AND the final that our name was on the trophy because of things that seemed to go our way over and over again.

Of course we worked hard, defended for our lives, attacked sides when we needed to and took our chances that came our way.

For Robbie to say that "luck" only played a minor part? I'm sorry but I disagree! I think it played a much bigger part than that but it wasn't the be all and end all!.

Don't expect anywhere near the same luck this season Chelsea fans in the Champions League will you as like I said, I think we had it all last season.

The thing is, now that we have won it - it doesn't matter as our name is in the record books as

"Champions League Winners 2011/12 - Chelsea Football Club".
