In a couple of hours, Chelsea kick off for the first time this season at Stamford Bridge as European Champions!. It's the moment we have all been waiting for and hopefully it will be a double celebration with three points against a good Reading side.
Chelsea must be professional and get out there and get the job done. Reading may come here not looking to concede and will make it hard for Chelsea, but we also have to be wary of the threat Reading pose also!.
With David Luiz ruled out with injury, I expect Gary Cahill to come and slot in next to John Terry alongside Ivanovic and Ashley Cole once again.
I wouldn't expect too many changes from Sunday against Wigan but with one enforced (Luiz) I think we could see Ryan Bertrand missing out tonight with Ramires coming back into the side.
Expect Frank Lampard and Mikel to continue the in "deeper" roles with Eden Hazard and Juan Mata alongside Ramires, in behind Fernando Torres.
I am looking for Chelsea to make the same start they did against Wigan but to not sit on our lead but to kick on from there and create and craft out plenty of chances!.
This could be a game that Chelsea make a real statement of intent this season with our play and hopefully the scoreline but in saying that, Chelsea wouldn't be Chelsea without making life difficult for ourselves now would it!.
Tonight has the potential in this Chelsea squad to be 4 or 5 but then again by a single goal, either way, what's important is another three points.
The thing is about us Chelsea fans now that we have won the Champions League, is that we have got greedy and want it all. So a great performance and a thumping scoreline would be ideal tonight.
Expect a Chelsea win with plenty of goals for Torres, Mata and Hazard.
Team Prediction: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Hazard and Torres.
Come on Chelsea!
