We all know Luka Modric has got his heart set on a move away from Spurs with last season, Chelsea looking like being his preferred destination.
However that seems to have changed now with Real Madrid looking to take him to La Liga but only at a price that suits them and not Spurs.
I will be honest, I thought that Chelsea had finished their interest in the Croatian until I read this article in The Mirror and it seems that Chelsea had looked to rekindle their interest offering Raul Meireles AND Danny Sturridge as part of the deal!.
Now of course this is only rumour and not confirmed but if it is true, I have to question why Danny Sturridge?.
Raul Meireles I can understand as I am sure if offered the chance to go to Spurs, based on their options in midfield if Modric left and to link up again with AVB, he would jump at the chance.
Sturridge is different though. OK, I have had my say on Sturridge and it was interesting to see that he never made it onto the pitch late on against Wigan yesterday, but surely RDM rates him enough to keep him here?
I just think it's a surprising development if true and could it mean that Chelsea are still chasing another striker?
Only time will tell.
