As we all know Chelsea lost the Community Shield to Manchester City 2-3 yesterday at Villa Park and I have an important message to the Chelsea faithful - DO NOT JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON!.
We have to remember this is pre season and if you think about our pre season it hasn't gone well has it! It's been pretty much disjointed for RDM as players have come back at different times because of various reasons and that of course isn't ideal.
RDM would have preferred to have everyone back at the start, training together so he can get his ideas across to everyone. That hasn't happened and we have players at different stages of their pre season.
To our credit though, I thought we dealt with City well in the first half. OK, they had a lot of possession but didn't threaten us too much. I thought Chelsea also caused them one or two problems.
One of the positives from the game is the fact that Fernando Torres got off the mark for the season and hopefully will kick on from there. It will give him confidence and should hit the ground running next week.
The Ivanovic tackle was stupid let's be honest! In that position he should have stood up and forced the attacking player wide to try and beat him. It's the silly tackles that cost you games and in addition to our shocking defending at times, it cost us this one. I initially thought it wasn't a sending off but seeing the replays on TV, Ivanovic does catch him with his left leg at shin level and these days you just can't do that!.
City were always going to come out and attack us and credit to them. Chelsea at times, looked a yard short of pace and RDM needs to work on our defence ahead of next week. We have conceded too many goals in pre season but like I said, it's important not to jump on the negative bandwagon too much here as we have time to put things right.
Another positive was our spirit once again. We never gave up and got back in it through Ryan Bertrand after Danny Sturridge's shot was parried by Pantilmon in goal.
The thing is, you can see how good Chelsea's attacking play could be once everyone clicks together. Hazard needs time as will Oscar and Marin, but once they settle down, we could pose teams a real threat.
I am not going to deny that a couple of players didn't have good games yesterday. They themselves would know that and like I said, with this being pre season I am not to concerned but it's obvious we expect better from them.
All in all it was disappointing yesterday. The sending off and the defending cost us and played into City's hands. I don't think anyone will doubt that they will be the team to beat this season.
It's just a shame we couldn't keep eleven men on the pitch yesterday to give us a real chance to do it this early!
KTBFFH!

We D̶̲̥̅̊Ơ̴̴̴͡Ώ̶̲̣̣̥'t need mikel I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ our team....he ȋ̝̊̅ڪ too lazy.....can't run...can't mark....nothin...Άπϑ terry ȋ̝̊̅ڪ old...he shud N̤̥̈̊ợ̣̣̝̇̇̇†̥ ß̍̍̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ startin αℓℓ O̶̷̩̥̊͡Ƒ our games............ramires ȋ̝̊̅ڪ Ϟö† a winger....he ȋ̝̊̅ڪ a mifielder.....
ReplyDeleteWe looked disjointed, linking defence and attack was super slow,Romeu is arguably Chelsea's best passer and is built in the mould of alonso,he should be given a nod ahead of Mikel, Lampard to be honest should not play all games. Luiz was horrendous and why he stayed in the pitch I do not know. Its early but the problem is linking defence and attack in a blink of an eye once we sort that out we are good to go.
ReplyDeleteOnly 6 trophies left to win so we better buck up & start playing better & that will come in the first 6 weeks of the season then we should have our 1st cup in the bag & be top of the league or near it if not backsides will be booted . #carefree #ktbffh #cfc and all that jazz
ReplyDeleteNothing match dodgy defending
ReplyDeleteHazard needs time it's pre season ffs
Give RDM time it will all come good
This will hurt the players
Wigan won't know what has hit them come Sunday UTC!!!!
It's easy to say don't jump on the negative band wagon but can you really prevent those thoughts from crossing ur mind? While on the journey to villa park I wasn't expecting much but when at the game after we scored you couldn't help but believe that we had the chance to win in the first half n to have that come crashing down while the thoughts of a negative pre-season makes you really consider our position in the coming season as the top clubs seem to performing better in pre-season. While I'm pro Di Matteo I think this formation is no longer going to work
ReplyDeleteWell yesterday was another eye opener, it shocks me when we say "its okay, its per season" what is pre season for? Its to get the ground running. We've had a poor pre season. Yesterday was our 4th straight defeat, imagine conceding 13 goals in 6 games, 13!! & yet we say its okay its pre season?!! I'ϻ I the only one seeing trouble? As was mentioned earlier we have a poor link between defense & offense.... Not to mention how players think these days... You know the rule (a double leg tackle is a straight RED) why act surprised when shown a red?! We're the current European Champions but i would'nt say we're the kings of Europe (kings rule) imagine going down 3-1 to a lower division. We have stroke fear to our rivals in the market but have in our plays? Instead i'd say we're the laughing stock of Europe... What makes you think that we'll win Wigan this weekend? For me its about time our players start to play not only with their legs but also their HEADS, Ramires for me was the only that realy put brains to foot. Sometimes you wonder is our deep mid field is for or against us... You see a possible quick break & you stall the ball or give hard passes that are practically impossible to control or reach. I know it takes time for the old & new to blend, but for heaven sake let's play like we mean it. I'm no pro but it was so obvious how Tevez was going to take that shot, why on earth did the so called professionals give him room for it?.... Let's stop being just fans & say the truth as it is.... We ought to still be on a high from May in Munich, Our pre seasons results so far is telling the world that we were Champions League winners last season by nothing but pure LUCK
ReplyDeleteI think chelsea will come gud, a bad begining makes a gud ending. Chelsea all d way! Very soon fans will all be singin chelsea praise. Its beta to slip early dan to slip when it matters most. Sky remains blue!
