After looking like a deal has been done and dusted, then with reports of a delay, it's now looking like Chelsea will sign Oscar by the end of the week.
For most of us who haven't seen Oscar play and have only watched clips on YouTube, last Friday we all had the chance to see exactly what he is all about as Brazil played Team GB in a friendly and I have to say I was more than impressed and watch below to see why.
What impressed me the most is, just like any other Brazilian, his willingness to get on the ball and his enthsiasm for the game. He was plenty involved, looking to create or play it simple. Looking for the killer pass or a drop of the shoulder to beat a man.
One thing is for sure, if we do get this deal done, we will have one hell of a player on our books for years to come.
Speaking ahead of the potential transfer being completed, Oscar said:
What did you people think of him against Team GB? Would it be a good move for Chelsea to sign him and become part of RDM's Super Six?
KTBFFH!

I'm so excited about these players coming into the squared, it means chelsea seeks to control practically every game played because a team with a good mid field controls the game (e.g Barca). My only concern here is the physique of the brazilian #10 Oscar. The EPL is a fierce league driven by strength, pace & stamina, I fear the young lad may do much struggling in the game in his debut season, because its so different the way the game is played here than in South America.
ReplyDeleteMata performed excellent in his debut season for us..so did Aguero at City. Oscar's job is basically to release the striker of an attacking midfielder who is in an advanced position. He might play as a holding mid or an attacking mid, depends where he's most needed during certain matches. Playmakers don't have the ball for more than maybe 3 seconds so I don't think he's physique is that much of an issue. Mata only weighs at 63kg and Oscar looks taller, meaning he might be heavier.
