As we all know, Chelsea have to register 25 players and no more ahead of the new season for the Premier League and Champions League competitions but we have a problem. At the moment with our new signings, promotions and returning loan players, we have 31 players in our first team squad.
Remembering that although he is listed as part of our squad, Patrick Van Aanholt has already been loaned out this season with Vitesse again.
So RDM needs to make a decision about certain players and so I have decided to open debate on the five players I believe are the ones in danger of being cut from the squad, sold or loaned out.
Next up is new signing Kevin De Bruyne.
I am posting up asking your opinion of De Bruyne even though if reports are to be believed, he is looking like having already agreed a deal to sign with Werder Bremen on loan for next season.
I think you look at him and think my god he's young isn't he!. You have to wonder if he would be ready for the Premier League but then again, he played Champions League football last season and twice against us. OK, the first game he never really featured, but against Chelsea at home for Genk last season, he was far better and had a real influence in the game.
For me, I would keep hold of him now and get rid of Florent Malouda. with the players we have signed, we have plenty of options in behind the striker so why not keep hold of the younger man and introduce him to the Premier League slowly?
This seems like all being in vein as I said as it appears a deal has been struck with Bremen.
What do you think? Am I wrong in what I have said about him taking the position in the squad away from Malouda or are Chelsea right to send him on loan for a season?
KTBFFH!
I'd agree with you, but Malouda is a senior player in Chelsea sqaud and looking likely to Malouda would stay. De Bruyne was loan last season, I'd like Chelsea keep him. CareFree!
ReplyDeleteLooking at it from a developmental perspective, its not a bad idea for KDB to go out on loan.the transition from the jupiler league to EPL is very huge and he will not get enough playing time at CFC.Werder Bremen play good football and he will go straigh into their first eleven and compete with world class opponents every week and also in europe.the guy will return to us as a better player.
