As we all know, Chelsea have to register 25 players and no more ahead of the new season for the Premier League and Champions League competitions but we have a problem. At the moment with our new signings, promotions and returning loan players, we have 31 players in our first team squad.
Remembering that although he is listed as part of our squad, Patrick Van Aanholt has already been loaned out this season with Vitesse again.
So RDM needs to make a decision about certain players and so I have decided to open debate on the five players I believe are the ones in danger of being cut from the squad, sold or loaned out.
The fifth and final player to consider is Gael Kakuta.
Obvious talent, skill in abundance and a willingness to play his football, Gael Kakuta has struggled at Chelsea breaking through.
With the likes of Hazard, Marin, Oscar and de Bruyne being signed this summer at the moment, Kakuta looks like being sent out again on loan for the season.
Of course there is the argument about bring younger players through but there has to be a balance. I seriously think that Chelsea have learnt a hard lesson during Carlo Ancelotti's second season in charge.
Remember how about five big name players left the club and were replaced by younger players in the squad? Chelsea suffered with injuries and suspensions and after being thrown into the team with little option, they couldn't cut it.
Harsh I know, but the demands on Chelsea these days to challenge in all competitions has become so great that the younger players do find it difficult.
So the question marks remain about Kakuta. Could he cut it in the Premier League or do you see his future being elsewhere?
KTBFFH!
Im looking at the five players u chose, a bit surprised that you left out Paulo Ferreira, really for all he has done for the club, i dont think he deserves a place in our 25.
