Despite all the recent success Chelsea has had as a football club in winning everything domestically and now the Champions League, one thing remains high on the agenda of everyone at the football club and that's to bring talent through the ranks and into the first team.
When Roman Abramovich came into the club and built the best training complex in the world alongside an academy, it was with the intention of giving our footballers the best platform to learn their trade and develop their talent to get the best of them.
We have come along way if you think about it with the likes of Ryan Bertrand now pushing for regular starts, Josh McEachran pushing for a place, Lucas Piazon and more that are on the fringes but there is one who has really come of age in the last year and that's Nathaniel Chalobah.
His development has come so quickly that there is reports that Robbie Di Matteo is willing to send him out on loan to a Championship side who will play him week in, week out and he is still only 17!.
Having had FA Youth Cup success and featuring for England recently in the Under 19 finals, this kid really has taken Chelsea by storm and soon to be the Championship.
Time will tell who Chelsea see fit to develop Chalobah even further and hopefully push him along even quicker.
I know we are out there buying young players at the moment and some people would rather see our youngsters being given a chance but, think about it, these kids need to get into the squad first and bed in, experience what a Saturday in the Premier League is all about and maybe get 10 mins here or there first.
Chalobah this time next season without question will be brought up to the first team squad so it's interesting to see how he does if he does go out on loan.
To think of the progress he has made already but to now go and play week in, week out in the second tier of English football?
It will be a very interesting to see how he gets on!
KTBFFH!
