Tonight Fernando Torres should make his first appearance at Anfield for Chelsea after leaving Liverpool 15 months ago. Heavily criticised, ridiculed and with footage of their so called fans burning their own shirts (with his name on), Torres will expect to get plenty of stick.
The thing is, the Fernando Torres Liverpool fans have seen since his move is a distant memory ever since Robbie Di Matteo has taken over.
Before that, with AVB in charge, Torres worked his socks off week in, week out but just couldn't find the net for one reason or another. He started well with a couple of goals in the League and Champions League but after being sent off at home to Swansea, he couldn't find his scoring touch again.
With reports that he never really saw eye to eye with AVB, the situation with Robbie Di Matteo is the complete opposite.
OK, some people will look at the fact that Torres wasn't involved in the FA CUP final last Saturday and make more of the situation than there actually is. Some people will see the dressing room celebrations and see that Torres took a back seat. For me, that doesn't mean anything as he seems a quiet reserved person anyway.
What I will tell you is that tonight the Liverpool supporters will see a very, very different Fernando Torres as he makes his way back to his best form.
He is confident in himself again, confident in our new formation that he would be given the service he so desperately needed ever since he joined us and confidence in the manager and it has made the world of difference.
At the minute, Didier Drogba is also on fire and you can imagine for Di Matteo that it is difficult to select one over the other, but so far in the big semi finals and final, Drogba has been given the nod. Saying that, I will never forget the Torres goal at the Nou Camp two weeks ago. I have never celebrated a goal like that in my life and it's what Torres offers Chelsea.
Chelsea are strong now, the squad is strong and we have the winning mentality once again after Saturday.
Fernando Torres will never have anything to prove to Liverpool and their supporters but who wouldn't put it passed him to give them a gentle reminder tonight?
Fernando Torres, Chelsea's number nine!
