Harry Redknapp linked with Chelsea job? Yes or No?

Ever since AVB was sacked as manager of Chelsea, there have been various rumours in the press about who Roman Abramovich has his eye on to take over at Chelsea.

All sorts of names have been mentioned from the likes of Guardiola, Joachim Low, Jose Mourinho and David Moyes. This morning a new name has appeared and it's an interesting one to say the least.

As reports this morning have come out stating that Spurs are "in no rush" to discuss a new contract with Redknapp who has only a year remaining at the club, he is being linked here with Chelsea.

The article states the following:

CHELSEA are ready to turn to Harry Redknapp after the Spurs boss was snubbed by England.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is a fan of Redknapp’s style of attacking football and has added him to his shortlist, which is still headed by Barcelona’s departing boss Pep Guardiola.

But with Guardiola continuing to insist he wants a break and a return of Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho looking less and less likely, Redknapp is now a serious candidate.

The 64-year-old – who was widely expected to get the England job ahead of Roy Hodgson – has just a year left on his contract at White Hart Lane.

And he knows he will have much bigger resources at Chelsea, having hinted at his frustration at an apparent lack of ambition at Spurs.

Only last week he revealed he had wanted to sign Carlos Tevez on loan from Manchester City in January, but ended up having to accept Everton’s 33-year-old Louis Saha.

It does make you wonder and even Spurs fans must know that in the past when the bigger job has come along he has had no hesitation in moving on. England is a different story as it isn't club management and in my eyes, the day to day man management of players is what Redknapp wants.

I know some Spurs fans who aren't happy with Redknapp despite their climb up the table in each of the seasons he has been in charge and I can guarantee that there are some Chelsea fans who wouldn't be happy if he came here.

I personally hope Roberto Di Matteo is given the chance full time and believe if he can deliver a trophy he will be under serious consideration but to deliver BOTH and finish in the top four, he WILL be offered the job.

If for some reason it doesn't happen, then Redknapp would be someone I would want the club to look at along with David Moyes because as the article says, Guardiola wants time off and Mourinho won't leave Real Madrid until he has won the Champions League.

Football these days is as much about man managing your players as it has become tactically and Redknapp is of that mould.

It will be interesting to see what happens this summer with Spurs. Will Redknapp look at the situation and feel that he has taken the club and the players as far as he can? If they finish outside the top four will they have to lose the likes of Modric and Bale and would that influence his future?
