Let's be realistic here for a minute. We travelled to the Emirates against an Arsenal side who have a good record at home (apart from the Wigan result last Monday) and with eight changes to the side that started against Barcelona, have come away with a decent point.
The good thing is that Spurs lost so we are now only a point behind them. OK, Newcastle won to put them four points above us but they have to come to the Bridge and also have to play Wigan and Everton away and Manchester City at home. We just need to win each game now. Fourth place is far from over.
So what about the performance? Well for me it was a strange one really as both sides seemed to have cancelled each other out and were far more concerned with losing the game than to try all out attack to win the game.
Arsenal had the more chances to score after hitting the post and crossbar and with Petr Cech blocking a Van Persie shot from close range, but Chelsea had their moments where the final pass or shot let us down.
It wasn't a classic, but Chelsea have to be more happy with a point than the Arsenal. I am happy with the point again, because of the amount of changes that were made to the side.
The good thing is, we have the basis of our side fresh for Tuesday and still in with a shot of fourth place.
