Injuries for Luiz and Sturridge during pointless friendlies!.

I really think that the situation with these friendlies that "have to" take place right in the middle of the business end of the season has to be looked at. For me they are pointless as the big players for big clubs are normally given instructions to only feature for half the game before being substituted or they withdraw from squads all together.

The additional problem the club has is the worry that people will come back injured and damage the preparation for the following game just like Chelsea will have to deal with tomorrow.

David Luiz has injured his foot playing for Brazil and Danny Sturridge limped off the pitch for England after coming on as a replacement for the injured Steven Gerrard!.

Both will more than likely now have scans on their knocks and Chelsea will have to now wait to find out the extent of the damage that has been done.

Imagine if one or both of them have to miss out on West Brom away on Saturday! It's a situation that should never have come about because of these poxy friendlies that UEFA insist have to take place!
