What the hell happened to Oriol Romeu? One minute he comes into the side and makes a real impact and cements his place in the side. He then picks up an injury and once that happens, he can't force his way back into the side!. Why is that?
With Romeu, the problem we had once he returned from injury was that he has been thrown on in games towards the end and can't really make the same impact from when he starts like the United game.
From now on in he has to start every single game if we are to try and put a run of results together to climb above the Arsenal. It really is a no brainer.
Chelsea had a good run of results when Romeu came in and played week in, week out in a settled side. We need that to happen again now.
Surely it's not just me and everyone including AVB and Bobby Di Matteo can see it!?. Don't play Mikel there, don't play Meireles there or Michael Essien there, it has to be Romeu playing.
Come on AVB you know I'm right!

John Mikel Obi is our best holding midfielder. With him in the side, the team is more compact. He has played and impressed under every manager he has played here.

DeleteAlong with kalou and malouda these players are the worst in the squad and need to be sold.
We have changed too many managers and each has made there own mistake - selling players like robben etc.
We lack flair and AVBs only flaw has been not to either enter the transfer market for a sneider etc or accept the fact he needs to play a more mourinho style whilst the youngsters gain enough experience to allow a more possession based game.
I want to see a settled team.

ReplyDeleteThere is not one aspect of his game that is better than Romeus.
He has had plenty of chances and consistentley proved himself not to be good enough.
Romeu understands the role so much better, the difference is very simple : Mikel gets ball looks up ,
Mikel gets the ball , looks up, passes.
DeleteWhereas Romeu looks up, gets ball, passes.
There's your difference. It's all about keeping it moving. Mikel slows it down, constantly.
