As you all know by now, John Terry has this morning been stripped of the England Captaincy once again. The "Official statement" from the FA reads as follows:
"Following the decision to adjourn the court case against John Terry to July, The Football Association confirm he will not captain the England team until the allegations against him are resolved.
The FA Board expected the trial to be concluded prior to the European Championship. Further to Wednesday's confirmation that the trial will not take place until after the tournament, the Board has discussed the matter in detail and has collectively decided it is in the interests of all parties that John has the responsibilities of captaincy removed at this time.
This decision has been taken due to the higher profile nature of the England captaincy, on and off the pitch, and the additional demands and requirements expected of the captain leading into and during a tournament.
The FA Board can confirm that he has not been excluded from the squad and that Fabio Capello is free to select him for the Holland fixture on 29 February and the European Championship.
FA Chairman David Bernstein has spoken to both John Terry and Fabio Capello to explain the facts to them. Fabio Capello has not been involved in The FA Board discussions which reached this conclusion, but understands that The FA Board has authority to make this decision.
Fabio Capello will take the decision as to who will be made captain moving forward.
This decision in no way infers any suggestion of guilt in relation to the charge made against John Terry. The FA will be not be making any further comment on this matter."
So there you have it. Although innocent until proven guilty, the FA have decided to act.
There is enough said about this situation for me to add paragraph after paragraph to this. It's a difficult situation to handle. I HAVE SAID it before and will say it again that I personally do not believe he said what he said IN THE WAY IT IS BEING MADE OUT TO BE at all!.
Chelsea and QPR had black players in both teams on that day and I believe that no matter what your allegiances are, if you hear someone say what is being reported, you would take issue with it RIGHT THERE AND THEN. No one did which says alot.
At the end of the day my opinion means very little but a jury will have the final decision on all this. John Terry has always declared his innocence and is due to fight the case all the way.
What I want to know from you the Chelsea or football fan reading this is your individual view on the Armband being taken away from him BEFORE the trial and the tournament?. The FA are keen to point out that HE IS innocent until proven guilty so is it right to punish him?
So come on people, tell me:
What's your view on John Terry being stripped of the England Captaincy?
(Please keep your comments sensible, any thing untoward will be deleted as you can understand).
KTBFFH
the fa should not ve taken the arm band from him.they(fa)should carry out their own investigation before taken the arm band from JT
ReplyDeleteI think JT should let it go.There're some big guns that are after this man,he should lay low and focus on his career both in football and as a father.I have a piece of advice for him, even if he was proved not guilty he should never think or dream about being England Captain again.I think he has paid his dues as patriot so he needs to focus on his on and off-pitch life and be the best husband and father to his wife and children respectively.....Kudos to you "BABA IBEJI" as we your fan called you here(Nigeria) you are the best...Just keep doing what you know how to do best...
