I think right now as a Chelsea fan we want two things from today. First and foremost we want and desperately need three points and secondly, a performance would be nice!.
No one would have imagined that we would find ourselves in the position we are in at the moment and no one would have predicted the result on Saturday against Aston Villa.
Questions have been asked of AVB and the players in recent weeks but it appears to have come to a head this morning with reports of player unrest at the club which I don't believe for a second.
We need everyone to pull together, to play for the manager, for each other and for us the fans and get the right result.
AVB has spoken of changes being made and the fact that he is grateful that we have an immediate chance of playing better and gain a much needed three points today. So I wonder, who will start today?
For me we have made far too many mistakes in recent weeks with our substitutions and we have to make sure we get our team selection and substitutions right if things aren't going our way today.
We all remember Wolves away last season. Like in recent games, we never played well enough to beat Wolves and they beat us fair and square. Make no mistake, Wolves would have seen the performances of Wigan, Fulham and Villa and will take heart from them and will look to put Chelsea under more pressure today. Their crowd will smell blood today and this could turn into a cauldron of pressure, Chelsea need to rise to the occasion without fail. If we don't, it could be another long day!.
Getting back to the Chelsea team and with changes being made, I don't think AVB will make too many. I think Jose Bosingwa will come back into the side in place of Paulo Ferreira, Frank Lampard will come into the side in the place of Raul Meireles, Florent Malouda will come in for Danny Sturridge (reports state he is possibly injured) and Juan Mata will come over to the right hand side and Fernando Torres will come in for Didier Drogba.
Just to recap my Chelsea team for today:
Cech, Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry (C), Cole, Romeu, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Malouda and Torres.
I know we have all been moaning about the way we have been playing lately and certain players, but right now I don't care how we play as long as we get the three points!.
It's a sign of the times for Chelsea the moment in saying that, but we need the result today. We get the win we have something to build on, we lose the game and god help us!
Come on Chelsea!
