PIAZON: Called into first team squad - would you play him?

As Chelsea fans and especially in recent seasons, we are always interested in seeing some of our promising youngsters come through into the first team squad. The likes of Betrand, McEachran, Van Aanholt and Bruma have featured last season but we haven't really seen much of the youngsters this term.

I guess it's all down to the pressure the manager is under to get results. When things aren't going your way or the side is struggling for a win in additional to good performances, playing the youngsters just isn't going to happen as you stick with the more experienced players.

However, tonight at Swansea, with so many of our established players missing, we have seen that Lucas Piazon has been called into the first team squad that has travelled and he is expected to be named on the bench.

Piazon has just signed an extension to his Chelsea contract keeping him here until 2017, which is a sign of how highly the club think of him. He has come in, worked hard and got on with his development and has put in some impressive performances already.

Here is his goal he scored against Arsenal as Chelsea beat them at their place 4-0 earlier in the season:



He has that Brazlian flair, composure with the ball at his feet and a calmness in his play that I believe would benefit the likes of Mata and Torres already.

I just wonder if tonight we will see Piazon make his first team debut at some stage tonight?. We have all been crying out for someone to play down the left hand side to allow Juan Mata to come inside so why not give Piazon a game?.
