JT has spoken about about stories of a dressing room revolt, backing the manager, celebrating the goals yesterday and of the hard line that AVB has installed at the club today.
In a fantastic interview featured here he said:
"I want to make it clear I'm 100 per cent behind the manager. There are no problems behind the scenes.
The manager has made it clear the players who want to stay here will be here and the ones who don't can move on. I have seen on the news today that people are saying I didn't celebrate with the manager for the first goal against Wolves but I did.
I ran over there and I was worried that Wolves were about to restart and take the kick-off and catch us on the break while we were celebrating. I had a quick celebration with him then after the game as well.
From a results point of view we have been giving people an opportunity to write stuff. People tend to look at it a lot deeper than it is. At the same time we need to be winning a lot more which I'm confident we will do. First and foremost, the club is a lot bigger than any of us and will come before any of us from now into the future.
He has come in and changed a lot of things at the football club, not only on the football pitch but on the training ground as well.
The one thing when he spoke to the players about Nico and Alex is that they had spoken to other clubs and going forward he said that he doesn't want players involved in the first team who are out there speaking to other clubs because they weren't thinking of Chelsea first and foremost.
Roman [Abramovich] is fully behind him, the club as well and he is making these changes, not for the short term but for the long term as well. He is going to be the man in charge and we all have to respect his decisions. He has been very up front with all of us so we can't argue with what he's done."
Credit to JT for coming out and speaking so openly. Yes I have had a moan at our recent performances which came to a head after the Villa result but not once have I said that AVB should be sacked.
There are plenty of people who have a total negative view of Chelsea at the moment and no matter what we do, they will always have a negative opinion.
We do have to remember that AVB has been asked to break up this squad, rejuvenate it and rebuild for the future. He is trying to do that, but at the same time the results haven't gone his way and this is why I have become, like many of you, frustrated.
You can always rely on JT to have a common sense approach to why we have been frustrated and I am happy that he acknowledges that Chelsea have given the press and media an excuse to have a pop at us time and time again.
Knowing now why Alex and Anelka were frozen out explains the common sense in AVB's decision even if it has meant we have been without Alex in recent weeks when we have had injuries.
No matter what the performance, we started 2012 with a win and that's all that matters. We take on Pompey in the FA CUP at the weekend and then it's back into the Premier League. Let's hope we can get on the run of results that we all know we are capable of.
If JT has anything to do with, he will be kicking people up the arse to make sure we do!
