There has been one story that has cheered me up today about our beloved blues and that's confirmation that Sam Hutchison has earned himself a new contract to the end of next season. Not bad for someone who had to retire with injury a while ago!.
I posted on my blog before that Hutchison is an inspiration and this news confirms the case.
Hutchison suffered horrendous problems with his knee and was forced to quit the game. Having been at the club since the age of 7 and being earmarked as a star of the future by Jose Mourinho, Chelsea were quick to offer Hutchison some solice with a coaching position at the club.
It was while he was coaching, he couldn't feel any more pain and after a period of time took the plunge and gave playing a go again.
Under Doctors orders and a weekly training plan, Hutchison has suffered no ill effects so far and is delighted with the new deal. He said:
Chelsea has high hopes that Hutchison could follow in JT's footsteps, let's hope it happens for him. No one can ever question is desire for the game.

"It's great to be back and I am looking forward to the future, I take it week by week and it is a slow process. I am still not out of rehabilitation but I am playing 90-minute games and feeling fit.Chelsea'a Academy manager Neil Bath also spoke about Hutchison's remarkable turnaround and said:
I have progressed from a month of three days training and then a day off to four days training and then a day off. It is important now to stick to the plan and listen to the doctors and progress from there.
"Should he make progress, we anticipate there could be a further contract but he is still going through the early stages of rehab and is still not training with first-team-type loading in terms of intensity and demands.Isn't that a great story, especially after all the negativity surrounding the club lately. Let's hope the plan he is sticking to keeps him fit and enables him to get stronger and stronger and back into the first team squad.
It's fantastic news because we have a player who has been with us since he was seven, who we thought had retired.
It is looking good that he will have a professional living in the game but we have to stay patient with the plan."
