MANCINI: "Chelsea can win it!"

Roberto Mancini has also spoken of Chelsea and the Premier League title race. 10 points behind Manchester City at the moment, Chelsea have it all to do if we want to get ourselves back into contention again. Mancini believes that Chelsea still could win it.

He said:

'Last year Chelsea had a big lead over Manchester United but in the end United won the title by seven or eight points.

The Premier League is very difficult and in these two months, all the teams that play every three days will find it difficult.

I think they can win it. They have 10 points less than us but we play two times against them and there are 24 games until the end of the season.

We have to win tonight to take a massive step forward in my view. To turn a 10 point gap to just seven will give everyone a real confidence boost and belief that we can do it. Apart from Spurs coming up shortly, we have a really good run of games now to get back into contention. A win tonight keeps our recent run going.

However, if we lose to City then I know Mancini is saying there are still 24 games to go, but it would be a big, big ask for Chelsea. That's the thing you never know in football and things can turn round in an instant. Look at the Arsenal.

Saying that, I would rather get the win tonight and be seven points behind to put a further element of doubt into City's minds after being knocked out of the Champions League in midweek also!.
