A defeat tomorrow is unthinkable but based on how we have been playing and in particular defending, is something we have to think about. It really has turned to this now and I am sure the majority of you have the worry in the back of your minds!
It's a far cry from a couple of seasons ago, even further back to Jose's time here when Chelsea were difficult to beat, workman like throughout and always a threat. Against Liverpool in midweek, we looked anything but.
The problem Chelsea face now is that the perception of us has changed. Teams look at us now and believe that they can attack us as we are frail at the back and not as strong as we used to be and you have to imagine Alan Pardew will do the same with his impressive Newcastle side tomorrow.
Pardew isn't everyone's cup of tea but has done the main thing as a manager, inspire your players to believe in your methods, in your philosophy and as a result give everything for you, the club and the supporters.
The opposite is being reported daily of AVB and the Chelsea players, there has even been reports of player unrest and some beginning to question what he is trying to do here. AVB and his players have come out and denied these reports, speak of working hard and having the determination to put things right starting tomorrow lunchtime as we embark on two games that could define our season.
So what of Pardew's side? He has done a truly amazing job by hardly making any waves in the transfer market. Two of their biggest names departed the club in Nolan and Barton and you could say they haven't been missed at all. With just one defeat in their last 16 Premier League games they have become a force to be reckoned with this season.
In Demba Ba they have a striker in form, again another comparison to those suffering at the Bridge. BA has scored 9 goals in his last 12 games and is someone who will be looking to expose our weaknesses at the back.
The fortunes of our strikers couldn't be more opposite. They are all struggling for goals and it looks like Didier Drogba will get the nod to impose his influence tomorrow. I still disagree and think Torres should be playing week in, week out.
Newcastle are hard working, give everything and have good players. Obertain and Ben Arfa are threats and any set pieces in and around the box will be taken by Taylor who has scored before against us.
Chelsea need to match the work ethic of Newcastle first tomorrow, then get our foot on the ball and play our football. Expect Oriol Romeu to start again tomorrow to get things going, Juan Mata to come back into the side to look to create and Danny Sturridge to impose himself down the right hand side.
It will be interesting to see if we stick with our high defensive line again tomorrow. I really hope not as it could again cost us dearly and like I have said, we can ill afford to lose or even drop points tomorrow.
It will be a difficult game tomorrow for both sides and expect emotions to be running high before the game as we all pay our respects to Gary Speed who decided to take his own life last weekend.
I have written a piece about Speed being a fan of a side that he never even played for. He was a respected man in the game for what he achieved in this league and for the way he carried himself. It's a loss that has been felt by everyone but more so tomorrow by the Geordies who he played for six seasons. We will join you paying our respects tomorrow.
As for the game, I simply cannot reiterate enough just how big this game has now become for our whole season let alone December. A defeat and we will have a huge fight on our hands to finish in the top four. A draw is OK but not ideal but three points would be massive.
It's a time for Chelsea players to stand strong, stand firm and play for the shirt they put on each week. No excuses whatsoever as we cannot keep hearing the same thing over and over again. There is only one way to get out of this mess and that's to do the business on that pitch.
So Chelsea, play well, be confident with the ball and play as a team. Show people just how good we can be and build a base to build on for Valencia in the week.
A defeat is unthinkable.
