It beggars belief really doesn't it. Danny Sturridge has been (when fit) a regular first team starter under AVB and has scored five goals in nine games. He has received his first call up to the full England squad that is preparing to play Spain tomorrow and there is a good chance that he is going to start the game too.
Alan Hansen, BBC pundit and ex-Liverpool player has written off Sturridge's chances of keeping his place in the Chelsea side this season and, being included in the Euro 2012 squad with England this summer.
He said:
He may have a point about England AT THIS STAGE as we need to see Sturridge retain good form on a regular basis for Chelsea for the WHOLE season first of all. Only then can we really say that he would be a certain inclusion for England.
As far as Chelsea goes, Hansen obviously hasn't got a clue. Why on earth would he only be a substitute here based on the fact he has played all season so far? Who would take his place and deserve to be included ahead of him at the moment? Anelka or Kalou? I don't think so!

“Despite his qualities, Daniel Sturridge is a million miles away from being ready to take a place in the euro 2012 squad.
He is a long way from being the finished article and, when all settles down at Chelsea, I cannot see him being more than a substitute at Stamford Bridge this season.
The big thing in his favour is that he has pace in abundance and that scares defenders.”

Alan Hansen is making a pointless comment. He should stop criticizing a player who has a bright future. He is jealous of him and who is going to bench him from the chelsea squard. And as for England,he can play a good partnership role with rooney if justic should prevail.
