Following on from my earlier post stating that AVB needs to decide on our best eleven and stick with them week in, week out for a while, I am posting this question about Juan Mata. It's a question that is on our minds at the moment as I can't help but feel that we would get so much more out of Juan Mata if he played inside.
Out wide he isn't anywhere near as effective as last night demonstrated. At least inside he can get his foot on the ball and get involved in the game and created far more opportunities than we are creating now.
The Chelsea side has been crying out for someone to get on the ball and create for us and I believe in Juan Mata, we have the perfect chance to do so. Forget Luka Modric at Spurs and save the money, Mata can and would do a fantastic job there.
Players like Fernando Torres and Danny Sturridge would thrive week in, week out on the service they would get from Mata. The only problem is how do you compensate for bringing him inside? If you bring Mata inside, then one of our central midfielders would have leave the side to accommodate him.
I personally really like and rate the 4-2-3-1 formation. Romeu and Ramires as the two central midfielders with bundles of energy, Mata in behind Torres with Sturridge right and Anelka left? Apart from Meireles being selected ahead of Romeu at Old Trafford earlier in the season, this is how we lined up in the second half against United and it worked superbly.
I would love AVB to change to the 4-2-3-1 for Wolves on Saturday and give this side a go. Drop the likes of Bosingwa, Drogba, Mikel and Lampard for a game and see how we go?
The important thing is that Juan Mata is to move inside and look to dictate and create for us just like David Silva now does for City.
I personally think this is where Mata needs to play from now on. What do you think?

i quite agree with your opinion.. I've always thought about using mata more centrally either in the 4-3-2-1 formation or the diamond formation.. Ancelloti would have made better use of him
ReplyDeleteChelse formation 4 2 3 1 will help us
ReplyDeletei realy support your view. We need Mata in the middle and Torres Up Front. Realy like your blogs, keep it up
ReplyDeleteThat's a much better line up. Please What's Malouda still doing in that team? Very selfish, no skill at all, hardly releases the ball to the strikers. The old men need to be offloaded for fresh legs to come in. Imagine Drogba, Anelka, Malouda still making our starting line up when non of the them can even make the bench at Old shitford. Meanwhile I'm yet to understand why MATA was subbed against Bayern last night.
