Let's be honest, after seeing Genk at Stamford Bridge the other week, this should be a walk in the park for Chelsea. I thought Genk were poor at best and for a side in the Champions League proper were disappointing. No disrespect to Genk as a football club, but it was fact based on their performance on the night.
How things have changed since we played them though eh?. Two defeats in the Premier League at QPR and home to Arsenal, JT and the race row and questions being asked of ourselves defensively.
I have posted an immediate reaction to the Arsenal defeat, questions as to what our strongest back four is, whether we should change our playing style, Ivanovic giving the players insight to what happened and the Manager's belief in his attacking style of football. It will be interesting to see how we are tonight.
Whatever happens (unless we have a repeat of Saturday) we can't be judged defensively again until Blackburn at the weekend but, we can make a start tonight.
AVB has spoken of getting six points from six from the two games against Genk so I do think we will field a strong side tonight, get the game won and make some changes.
Genk are buzzing at the moment after their comeback at the weekend and are taking up a good game tonight but I am sorry I just can't see it.
Chelsea are a wounded animal at the moment with something to prove and to make a start tonight and I can see us scoring plenty again.
Expect a strong, professional performance from Chelsea tonight and to win by three or four. How many changes AVB makes nobody knows but I expect a few.
Come on Chelsea, let's get back to winning ways and winning big tonight!
