AVB: There’s a belief that things will go our way again soon.

AVB is under pressure apparently and the media focus this week has been our recent run of poor form. We all know we should have defended better against the Arsenal and beaten Genk this week but is it just a case of being unlucky at not being able to put the ball in the net and it has cost us as Petr Cech has stated?

Well, AVB revealed earlier in the week that the players who went through a similar spell last season, do not want to be faced with the same situation again this term.

AVB said:

“The negative emotions the players lived last year make it enough for the players to want to avoid a repeat of that. The sentiment of what we’re doing now is good, so there’s a belief that things will go our way again soon.

I live with these players on a daily basis. I’m fortunate enough to see what they can offer to me and I make decisions on that. You don’t see the commitment, how good they are. You see them in competitive and strenuous situations, and it’s valid that people have their opinions. But we don’t believe them.

Defending is a collective organisation, not to do with adding one or more individual. If there are collective mistakes, we have addressed them. We are not thinking about the way we are defending at all. We have a good, solid defensive organisation. We have complete trust in it.

Now I wouldn't say I have complete trust in our defence at the moment AVB even if you seem to think so. The problem I see in all this is that we still have the mentality of "you score one, we will score two" and against the better teams in United and Arsenal, we have been found out big time!

I guess if we weren't creating chances and conceding goals then it would force AVB to maybe change our playing style but for now considering the way we are playing, we will always create chances.

Thinking about it, if Chelsea had taken their chances against Genk and won the game 3-1 or 4-1 would we be complaining? Makes you wonder doesn't it.

For now, we need to stick by the team and believe in what AVB is doing here. I do believe that things will turn around for us and go our way again. Let's hope it starting today!
