KALOU: Liverpool and Arsenal want him. They can have him!

Reports have surfaced over the weekend that Liverpool and Arsenal are looking at making a move for Salomon Kalou in a cut price deal in the January transfer window. Kalou only has a year left on his contract and with talks of extending his deal put on hold it looks as though AVB has decided to cut his losses on Kalou and will allow him to leave.

Kalou is one of the most frustrating players we have at the club. He can be brilliant in one moment but then can be useless in another. The problem we have seen lately is that it's the latter we are seeing alot more than being brilliant.

Also, a thing that I can never understand is that AVB came to the club and stated on record he wants to take a look at ALL the players he had in the first team squad and some youngsters on our pre season tour and then to make decisions on players futures after that. It was a message to our current players to prove something to the manager and to fight for their places at the club first of all, then the first team but Kalou was one of our most disappointing players.

He has hardly been involved at all this season and when he has been he has again, been disappointing. The arrival of Juan Mata has forced the likes of Florent Malouda and Nico Anelka to up their game but as yet we have seen no response from Kalou.

I know Arsenal wanted Kalou a couple of seasons ago so I wouldn't be surprised to see them make another move on the cheap in January. However, Liverpool coming in for him would be a surprise. Steve Clarke will know about him and what he can offer, maybe a move up there will work for him.

I just really think right now that we have better options than Kalou at the moment, he hasn't upped his game and showed us he wants to fight for his place so if anyone wants him in January, they can have him!
