Do you agree Premier League harder than Champions League?

With tonight's Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge against Genk, and with Chelsea hitting form under AVB, there are obvious questions being asked of the players. One player in particular was asked about winning the Champions League but stated that winning our domestic Premier League trophy was more difficult.

Ashley Cole said:

"I've been lucky enough to play in two Champions League finals, And the first time I did that [with Arsenal] we got there because we had a lucky draw.

To get to the final I don't think you have to be the best team - because you can get lucky. Teams like Barcelona always seem to get easy games. And the further you get the more it's down to luck of the draw really.

That's why I'd always want to win the Premier League more - every season, To do that, you have to play all the teams week in, week out.

Nothing is ever taken for granted and to be champions of England is always a great achievement."

Is Cole right? I think he is. There is a saying in football about being successful and it's about having that little bit of luck along the way. I think I can safely say on behalf of all of us Chelsea fans, when it comes to the Champions League, we have had more than our fair share of bad luck.

I also agree with Cole in relation to the Premier League because let's face it, if you win your domestic league by finishing top it's because you have earned it over the course of the season. Anyone can beat anyone on their day when the big teams come together in the latter stages of the competition. It's all about how you perform on the day and you may have been playing well for the whole season but, have one off day in the knockout stages of the Champions League and you are out!
