Chelsea looking at Cahill to replace Alex?

It's no secret that Alex has favoured a move to Italy and continues to express a "desire" to leave England and go and play in Serie A. He has spoken of doing so in the past, is rumoured to be frustrated this season at a lack of first team football so far and all the signs indicate that AVB could be looking to move him on at the end of the season with a number of others.

So what about Gary Cahill of Bolton?. Chelsea, along with Spurs and Barcelona are being linked with a move for the 25 year old as his contract at Bolton expires at the end of the season. Spurs thought they would get him before the window closed at the end of the summer but that never happened and with Chelsea now being interested along with Barca, to me it makes sense for Cahill to come and join one of us two.

Cahill is a good player and IS getting better. It's a shame that at the moment he isn't in a side that can show how good he can be. He played OK the other night for England but we have to remember he is still learning the game which is why I don't think he will feel that he is ready to move abroad.

For me he would be a perfect replacement for Alex if he leaves for Italy. Like I said he is 25 years old and English and would be a perfect investment for the next five years alongside the likes of Ivanovic and Luiz. He would be able to learn more of the game from JT while he is still here and playing and I believe he could really make an impact both here and at Champions League level.

I hope this isn't just speculation and we make our move because it is looking more and more like Alex is on his way!
