I don't think any of us were surprised at the last minute rush through the doors of the Emirates on transfer deadline day. Being someone looking in from the outside and who they bought, to me Arsenal still lack a centre half and a proven striker who can cut it in the Premier League to ease the burden alongside Robin Van Persie.
Well, if rumours are to be believed today then it seems that Arsene Wenger feels the same and has his eye on Didier Drogba and Alex now and is preparing to make a move in the January transfer window.
I'm not sure that Chelsea would entertain the idea of Drogba going to Arsenal but the problem we have is that come January if no deal is agreed the he IS free to talk to anyone. A move there where he would be more or less guaranteed first team football, staying in London could prove to be better than going somewhere like Bayern Munich.
As much as I don't want to see Didier Drogba leave the club, we may have to face the reality that Chelsea only want to give him a one year deal which isn't the two years he wants and he could leave us!
As for Alex, I have already had my say on this, he hasn't featured much under AVB and has dropped down the pecking order behind JT, Luiz and Ivanovic. Rumours that we are looking at Gary Cahill would indicate to me he would be allowed to leave which is a shame because he is a good player.
I would imagine being an Arsenal fan, these two would be ideal for you at the moment (especially as early as January) considering you have been lacking in these positions for years now.
So what do you people think? Could Arsenal be a realistic destination for Drogba and Alex or do you want them to stay?
