Fresh from Fabio Capello stating that Chelsea should loan out Josh McEachran to enable him to continue his amazing development over the last couple years, I was wondering if this is something that Chelsea are seriously thinking about doing?.
How many times have we heard Josh being compared to Jack Wilshire in the last few weeks?. I personally think that with the ball at his feet he is better but that's just me. We all know, Wilshire flourished at Bolton playing every week for I think half a season and people including Capello are really pushing for Chelsea to allow McEachran to follow his footsteps.
The thing I have been impressed with so far from our pre season is the actual game time Josh is being given by AVB who spoke of him so highly the other day. I even posted on here "Who needs Modric when we have McEachran!" and I stick by that!.
I just wonder if we will see Josh feature and start some games this season or if he will have to settle for a place on the bench?. The fact he has committed to the club for another five years is fantastic so we have no worries about losing him so I really wonder if we will get to a point come the January transfer window, if we will see Josh spend the last part of the season on loan?.
He has said he is quite happy to do that which could convince AVB to go ahead with an agreement. I personally think that at this stage of his development it would be best for him to stick around, continue to train with the first team week in, week out and see where we are at the end of the season.
Whether or not that will mean Josh will play a fair few games this season is another thing. The question remains, if he does go out on loan then what level do you loan him out to, Championship or Premiership?
It's a difficult one to solve but also a good problem to have. We have been waiting for someone to come through from the youth ranks and make an impact and that's exactly what Josh has done so far.
So to you the Chelsea fans reading this I am asking you the question:
Would you send Josh McEachran out on loan this season?.
