CHELSEA V WEST BROM: Welcome to the Bridge AVB!

The Premier League is back and this afternoon it's the first game of the season at Stamford Bridge. AVB takes control of his first home game and he will want to do well today.

Roberto Di Matteo also makes his return to the Bridge but in very different circumstances to when he was last here. It was around this time last season, Di Matteo brought his newly promoted West Brom side to the Bridge and were beaten 6-0. The performance and result still hurts their players and they will want to put in a much better show today.

Looking at West Brom last weekend, I thought they played really well. OK, United got the result in the end and bossed the game for the most part but West Brom held more then their own got back on level terms. Under Roy Hodgson, they are organised, work hard and have signed a predator in the box in Shane Long. The danger man is Chris Brunt. He has a great left foot and will look to strike anywhere in and around the box and from set plays.

This afternoon for Chelsea, I think no one could tell you who will start the game today. This week Romeu and Lukaku have joined up with the squad and are now part and parcel of AVB's plans. Whether or not they feature today is another thing. I guess Romeu will depend on Mikel and how he feels at the moment with everything going on. Lukaku I expect, will be on the bench today but I just wonder who else will be.

I do expect AVB to make changes to the side that started against Stoke. I expect Kalou to be dropped to the bench after he was awful last week and maybe Ivanovic to start today. It remains to be seen if Drogba starts in place of Torres of if he plays next to him.

No matter who starts the game today, we expect a performance and expect a result and that's no disrespect to West Brom. Chelsea need the three points on the board to get that winning feeling and to kick on from there.

AVB will be looking for the right result like all of us. We need width, pace and to attack at every opportunity. I'm not saying another 6-0 is on the cards but on paper you would think we should win by at least two today.

So come on Chelsea, give us the performance and the result we are looking for.
