SCOTT PARKER: Just how serious are we to take the rumours?

With news of Michael Essien, there has been numerous reports that Chelsea and especially AVB will turn their attention to ex-Chelsea player Scott Parker. Now I am not so sure this has any truth in it at the moment but it could be something that could evolve into a realistic target for the club.

Parker was unlucky at Chelsea. He signed for us at the time we had Lampard, Makelele, Smertin, Geremi, Jarosik and Tiago fighting for places in midfield. Parker was only used as a squad player which was hard him personally but understandable with the likes of Claude Makelele in front of him in the pecking order.

Parker moved on and even Jose Mourinho said at the time he just wanted to play football and understood the players feelings.

Parker has done well at West Ham and has been their real driving force despite seeing them relegated. Parker is the one of the few players who could hold their head high knowing that he gave it everything he has got for the club.

AVB worked with Parker when he was under Jose and would know all about the qualities he has and could bring to our midfield. I guess you could say they Parker is similar to Essien and would in my view slot straight into the middle without any problems.

Parker would also provide some defensive stability in the midfield to allow the like of Lampard and Ramires to push forward.

I personally like Scott Parker, some people thought at the time he wasn't Chelsea class so I am wondering if you feel the same now?
