The first major move by Chelsea and Roman Abramovich tonight in the transfer market as one of the key players identified by the club as spoken about by Ron Gourlay, has become the subject of a £22m bid by Chelsea and that's Luka Modric.

Tottenham have rejected the offer but it's believed that Chelsea will go higher to get their man. Tottenham do not want to sell, but it seems certain that the player will now ask for a move as he wants to play Champions League football.

I just wonder how much Tottenham will hold out for and if Chelsea can pull off one of the biggest deals of the summer?
