It seems after Luka Modric stated that he wanted to leave Tottenham and join Chelsea and as a result, Daniel Levy stating that "He would not be sold to anyone and is not for sale", Luka Modric is about to have a "change of heart" and issue another statement explaining that if the transfer to Chelsea suited Tottenham, ONLY THEN would he want to come and play for Chelsea!
To me it seems ridiculous really purely and simply because of the fact that you would be holding onto an unhappy player? Now when I state unhappy I am referring to the fact he HAS stated he wants to play Champions League football and fight for trophies each season. He has said he is happy at Spurs but the fact of the matter is that his desire for both will remain so what's the point of keeping him?
If someone at Chelsea turned round and said they wanted to leave then I would say the same thing. There is no point in keeping someone at the club if they do not want to be there.
It seems that Modric will have to shut up and get on with it at Spurs now which is fair enough if he can refocus on his football and have an even better season than he did last time. The problem he has now is that if he has a bad game or doesn't play to the same level as he did last term, the Spurs fans will see it that his heart isn't in it and eventually become sick and tired of it and wish they had taken the money and brought someone else in!.

Ah. What a shame. Money can't buy you everything. Better luck with your next target. Why not get a manager first and see who he wants.
ReplyDeleteThe point is he is under contract and all your dirty unsettling tactics haven't worked on Levy. Modric can tell Spurs he never wants to play for us again and I'd stick firm that he stays in reserves from then on. Makes me laugh how 2bob clubs like u think u can bully BIGGER clubs into selling because u have the financial backing to do so! No matter what any of u think, Spurs are, always have been and always will be a bigger club than Chelski! I could buy a season ticket at stamford bridge tomorrow yet Spurs have a 25000 long waiting list for one! Bigger club are you? Mugs.
