LIVERPOOL IN FOR £8M CHELSEA STAR?

According to caught offside today, Liverpool are preparing a bid of around £8m for Florent Malouda and believe that with just a year remaining on his contract, Chelsea could be willing to cash in on the Frenchman. This is not the first time they have been linked with a move for him either!. Only the other week I posted that Malouda wasn't happy with the deal Chelsea have offered him to stay on.

Now for me, looking back at last season and his performances, I would take that and sell up!. If this was last summer then we wouldn't even think of entertaining the idea as Malouda had finished his best season at the club playing an instrumental part in our double success.

However, this season (and I have said it before) Malouda was far too inconsistent and only started and finished the season well enough!. I have posted on here during the bad spell we had that Malouda seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and playing with an attitude and I stand by that. The smile had left his face and he was playing like everyone was against him. As a result, his form was awful and he was the shadow of the player he was in our double winning season.

Ok, he pulled it together towards the end of the season with much better performances but for me it was too late. Besides that, we are interested in this fella anyway and if I was Chelsea I would buy him and replace Malouda given half a chance!

Isn't it strange that Liverpool are getting rid of Joe Cole and will more than likely look to Malouda to replace him, whereas Florent Malouda's form was the reason Joe Cole left Chelsea anyway!

So, I say we should sell up! What do you think?
