ANOTHER MASTERSTROKE FROM VILLAS-BOAS!

I cannot emphasise enough how happy I am to hear AVB speak of the group at Chelsea rather than distancing himself from his players and speaking of individual players.

Of course Jose came here and announced he was "The Special One" which is a name he will always be fondly remembered as here but think about it for a second, it immediately passed a message onto everyone from the owner, to the board, the players, the staff and us fans that he really is outstanding far and above everyone else here.

AVB's was very very quick to dispel any comparisons with Jose and when asked about "The Special One" comment from Jose sitting in the same seat seven years ago, he immediately chose "The group one" which to me is a masterstroke already.

At times last season, because of Carlo's changes in games with some players in and out the side like yo-yo's and knowing that they weren't playing well, it seemed to me that the group and team collective took a back seat as players thought of themselves and their own performances first with the team second.

The fact that AVB has this "we are in this together" approach will instantly build on our team spirit that picked up towards the end of last season.

If he can make every single person in our squad feel as though they can and will play a part in his project we really could be onto something special at the Bridge once again this season.
