If you read the press and media coverage on Chelsea then you will understand that ever since the final whistle blew at Old Trafford, Carlo Ancelotti has become once again, the focus of attention. Some of you will agree with what is being and has been already but I have to go on record now and state that I do not believe he will be sacked.
Reason being? Roman Abramovich didn't do it when we were at our lowest point of the season back in November/December time but instead chose to back our manager. I have said it on here before, and let's be honest, most of us thought we would be reading news of Carlo's tenure at the club being over at that time but it never happened. We have all seen what had happened in the past with other managers who were fired for less but with Carlo, under extreme pressure and a barrage of questions for weeks on end he remained our manager.
I honestly believe he wasn't sacked then because the club realised that they had taken a double winning squad, weakened it with numerous departures and never replaced them with experienced players so when push came to shove when we had all our injuries, our lack of real depth became apparent.
I posted on here yesterday about Carlo after Tony Cascarino had his say on changes that he felt needed to be made and I stand by what I said then. I want Carlo to stay and oversee the rebuilding process at the club, from a side that is still in the mould of Mourinho, into something he can call his own. This will start with the news today that Kaka's mother has tweeted that they are coming to London next season. Chelsea have been linked with him and the bond between the player and Carlo is strong. Could it be that Roman wants to back his man again and is going to deliver the player Carlo wants with him AGAIN?.
Everyone is focusing on the meeting that has been called between the manager and the club a week after the season finishes and sees that as the time he will be given his marching orders. I'm not buying it one bit, it will be a meeting to plan and prepare for pre-season and that looks like it will also include Gianfranco Zola coming to the club as first team coach and replacement for Ray Wilkins to work under Carlo.
Carlo will be given time in my opinion. I just wonder if you think that's the right or wrong decision?
