John Terry has revealed the key conversation between Carlo Ancelotti and his Chelsea players that seems to be the catalyst of our great run which has taken Chelsea to within the summit of the Premier League with a win against Manchester United on Sunday. He said:
"Carlo was as disappointed as anyone after that defeat. He allowed us 15 minutes of silence in the dressing room. And then he said 'We can still make our season what we want it to be. We don't give up now, we continue right to the end. For our club, for our supporters and for ourselves'. He took a lot of stick after that game but deserves credit for the way he has picked everyone up.Credit where credit is due Carlo. I mean, you see Carlo on the TV and in the papers and you do not get the impression that this guy is a real motivator. He knows his football, he loves his football but you can't imagine him giving this kind of speech to his deflated players, players who have just been knocked out of the Champions League can you?
We were all still low in the next few days of training but it was down to Carlo that we got ourselves back up. He did a brilliant job of keeping the players hungry and never let us give up and think it was over.
He's a great manager and all the players believe in him."
The thing is he did, and the fact that he did and the fact he has taken our team to within reach of United when it seemed it was all dead and buried is a massive achievement and once again, proof that the players love him, and want to play for him.
