Mikel fighting for his place in the side.

John Obi Mikel has spoken of his intention to build on his resurgence in the Chelsea side of late that has taken us on an impressive run of results and within the summit of the Premier League. He said:

"I just want to help this team win trophies, that is my aim and as long as I am playing and this team is winning games and trophies then I am happy.

I had a good run from the start of the season until about January and then I wasn't playing so much. Now I have started playing again and I just want to keep playing as much as I can and help the team win games and trophies and this is my aim and this is why I am in this club.'

Now I know that opinion on Mikel is divided amongst the Chelsea fans. I would just like to point out how well he played in his role against Spurs last weekend. He was my man of the match and I would suggest to all of you that would be hard pushed to find anyone else that played better overall.

It's no coincedance that Chelsea have gone on a run of games and results by switching to our 4-3-3 formation where Mikel position in front of our back four, anchoring the midfield is key.

If Chelsea are to beat United this Sunday then we need to play 4-3-3 and we need Mikel to have another great game like he did last weekend!.
