"I think the pressure is what drives people on" - Cole

Ashley Cole has is featured this morning in The Sun and has spoken of Chelsea's desire and hunger for success that is the force behind our resurgence and the fact that we have clawed back a 15 point gap to United by taking 25 points out of a possible 27. He said:

"When you win things, that's what makes you realise how good it is. I think the pressure is what drives people on. It makes you want to prove something, to carry on going and keep on winning things. I just want to win anything because I love the feeling.

When you stop getting that feeling, I think that's when a lot of players tend to stop playing football because they haven't got the desire any more.

I've still got many years of that desire left in me and the players we have here are all the same as me in that respect."

If you think about it, winning the double last season has put Chelsea under pressure to go one better this season and we all know what has happened. We all felt the pressure of expectation as we suffered our dip in form during the middle of the season but imagine what they must have felt like for the players and the staff at the club.

To deal with all the flack, all the criticism and pick themselves up, dust themselves down and put up a fight has to be commended. Now more than ever this season it comes down to Sunday and the pressure cooker that will be at Old Trafford.

Can Chelsea cope with the pressure and step up to the challenge posed by United? Only time will tell!
