"We scored after two minutes, so the game was more comfortable"

Carlo Ancelotti spoke to Chelseafc.com after the win over Birmingham last night and said:

The side played very well because from the back we are playing quicker compared to the difficult period we had.

The strikers have more possibility to show their quality. This is good for the team. We scored after two minutes, so the game was more comfortable.

For 60 minutes we played really well, the last 30 minutes were not so good. Maybe it was because we didn't use all our energy before the end of the game.

Didier has a strong personality, he knew with his malaria that he didn't play his best and so now he is fit, he is showing fantastic quality.

In one season you can have problems like Didier had. Obviously we couldn't do anything about this, now we have to be happy to see him play fantastic football. He is in fantastic form but individually there were a lot of good performances.

We have another tough game, so I can use some rotation to keep the players fresh. In this moment of the season, every game is difficult, it's difficult to prepare and it's difficult to stay in concentration. When one team needs a point to survive from relegation, they will do more than 100 per cent. For this we need to be ready.

I am so pleased we are back to OUR 4-3-3 formation and the two games, West Brom and now Birmingham have given us all renewed hope and optimism between now and the end of the season. However I do expect to see changes for Saturday and West Ham as Carlo has spoken of rotation. That's the good think about the position we are in now. We have plenty of options.

At the moment we are playing with confidence and looking good.
