Salomon Kalou has pointed out the obvious after the West Brom game about a formation that is tried and trusted and the reason for the successes we have had since Jose Mourinho's time at the club, our 4-3-3 formation.

The key for me is exactly as Kalou says, the players have been together for years and looking at Chelsea, we have a squad set up for 4-3-3 so I can never understand why we made the switch in the first place.
Look at last season, we had a blip building up to a draw away at Blackburn. Carlo, after a team meeting, made the switch to 4-3-3 and we hammered Portsmouth away 5-0 in the following game and went on to win the double.
This season, we started off the same but then injuries hit and lack of squad depth has cost us. Once we got players back and with the arrival of Fernando Torres and David Luiz, we switched to playing 4-4-2 or a formation with two up front.
The problem we have is we have no natural right winger so when we have played 4-4-2 Ramires has been asked to play there, out of position. Salomon Kalou isn't a natural right winger but he and Nicolas Anelka can play on that side as part of the 4-3-3 formation.
I know maybe the pressure was on Carlo to play Torres and Drogba up front together as two up, but why can't they play as part of 4-3-3 with Torres through the middle and Drogba playing around him?. Didier Drogba has the ability and often finds himself out wide so why not!?.
I believe for the remainder of this season at least, we HAVE to stick to 4-3-3. What do you people think?

We play our best games in a 4-3-3. Everyone knows that Chelsea is stronger like that. We tried other formations and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Most of the players who have been here six or seven years are used to it. It’s easier for us to adapt to that than any other system."
