Didier Drogba has spoken of the win over West Brom, his illness, a disappointing season but also of a determination to win our remaining games. Drogba has once again reiterated the players determination to obtain the success they feel Roman Abramovich deserves.
He said:
"Let's be honest, it is going to be difficult [to catch Man United] but we can put some pressure maybe on Arsenal for second place, Let's see, but we have to win our games. It was a good afternoon against West Bromwich. It was good to start winning again and it is important we secure third place.(Source: ESPN)
Everybody knows I was ill and it was difficult for me and it was difficult for the club because I couldn't give 100 per cent, but that is life.
It is a difficult season but now we have to prepare for the next season by winning these games. It is important for the club to be in the Champions League next season and finish in the best place we can, for the fans, for the owner as he is doing a lot for Chelsea, and for us."
That's the thing with our squad of players, they are so used to winning something, season in and season out, this season has got to hurt. If we fail to win anything, bearing in mind the Premier League is a big big ask, it will be the first time in six seasons that we haven't won anything at all.
We keep on hearing from Carlo and different players of their determination to play to win every single remaining game between now and the end of the season. If we do that and finish second, looking back after all the problems we have had, I just wonder if we would see that as a decent season!?.
Just shows how far we have come doesn't it!.
