More on Drogba this morning and this time from Jose Mourinho. After the speculation surrounding Drogba's future has been the focus of the media attention this week, Jose was asked about a possible move to take Drogba to Madrid and Jose being Jose, responded by saying:
“Everybody knows the professional and personal relationship that I have with Drogba, But everybody also knows the relationship that I have with Abramovich and Chelsea. Therefore if it were true that Chelsea wants to sell him I would be one of the first to know because we have got a very direct, friendly relationship and they have told me nothing.(Source)
So I think that Didier is going to stay where he has to stay, where he has made history.”
Let's hope Jose is right. Interesting comments though from Mourinho about his relationship with Roman Abramovich. Could it be that Jose is coming back in the summer and wants to ensure Drogba is there for another season with him? Sounds abit far fetched I know but you never know.
I will say one thing, it's a typical comment from Mourinho just as speculation about a possible return to Chelsea has died down from what it was. Using the Drogba story as a chance to rekindle the fires! You've gotta love him....still !
Let's hope he's right about Drogba!
